1. It grants mining leases and prospecting licenses under the different Acts of Government of India.
2. Administration of other required and related acts on minerals.
3. To collect revenue on the different minerals occurred within the State.
4. To investigate and explore different mineral deposits with their reserve estimation as well as geo environmental studies with special reference to flood control.
